King's noodle is definitely one of my go-to restaurants when I'm craving some authentic Taiwanese noodles.
This is a family-owned restaurant. And I love it. I always order the beef dry noodle (menu item #1) because it has more of a garlic flavor than the traditional beef noodle soup (#2). And you get a side of the soup with your order of dry noodles, plus a sauce plate of 酸菜/榨菜 (pickled chinese cabbage/pickled mustard). It comes with a piece of radish, cilantro, tender beef and of course the delicious noodles.
The food is made fresh, they only start to cook the noodles once they put the order in, which is why it takes a bit of a wait. But it's so worth it. The taste is clean and flavorful.
This restaurant is also very much self-service. You get your own water, utensils, napkins. This resembles the asian restaurant mentality - do it yourself. So don't listen to the negative reviews!! It's one of the best, authentic, Taiwanese restaurants in town. -

I came to this restaurant looking for some comforting bowl of noodles when I was feeling sick with nausea.... let's just say the noodles made me more nauseous the next day with it's aftertaste.
I ordered the traditional Beef Stew Noodle Soup. The soup was bland and left a terrible aftertaste in my mouth. The beef was just okay... the noodles itself were chewy though... I did enjoy the side of pickled vegetable they served on a small side plate. I was not impressed at all -

Comfort food for me. But the service needs a huge overhaul.
The waitress was sitting in the back playing with her laptop, leaving several tables un-cleaned with leftover soup dishes after guests leave.
Worse, it takes forever to receive your orders, like 10 - 12 minutes. If their main feature is beef noodle soup, they shouldn't need to create it from scratch. So, not sure why it takes so long. I feel embarrassed for bringing my friends here for the soup.
And, if you just come in and sit down, no wait staff will come take your order. Basically, self-serve. -

I can't say I've never been. Tried it but wasn't impressed by it. I expected more...I ordered their Three Delight Dry Noodle Beef and their Handmade Dumplings.
The servings are huge and should be enough for two. The service is very average, typical Asian place. They take your order at the counter, you pay, and they immediately work on your order with no other conversation but that really doesn't bother me. I'm there to try their food and not make friends. My order took a a little while than expected since they are making dumplings to order, steam it and make sure filling is not raw (I actually appreciate this).
Would I comeback? Probably not since a bit of a drive for me but would go if I'm invited or a group of friends would like to try it. -

We visited Kings Noodles for their shaved ice desserts. We've visited on previous trips to Dallas and always enjoyed their shaved ice offerings. This trip they only had a few shaved ice options so we decided on the mango and strawberry toppings. It took about 15 minutes for them to make our order. By the time we got our order most of the shaved ice on the bottom melted and turned into water which was disappointing. Additionally, they drizzled some chocolate sauce all over the strawberries which we didn't realize they did and didn't care for. We did enjoy the mango side with condensed milk before all of the chocolate sauce flavor got mixed in due to all of the melting. Overall, the dessert was ok but we have had better.
